An Airbus A320 tries to land during 155mph winds causing a wing tip to graze the runway. UPDATE: The airplane was being piloted by a 24-year-old female co-pilot, according to a report by the German Newsweekly "Der Spiegel". The more experienced 39-year-old pilot quickly took over the controls to take off again and eventually landed the plane safely.
 
 
A Lufthansa jet carrying 131 passengers was rocked by wind clocked at 155 mph as it tried to land at Hamburg Airport on March 1, 2008.  The A320 went back into service the next day after repairs of wingtip and winglets. AP article   wing photos
