1. "EDITORS CORNER"

Hi NT-ers,

Here is the latest NewsFlash. We are still working on the surprise
release that I promised you last week. We need to wait for a little
bit until it has arrived closer to you. (Now what could that be?)
But the actual Release Date is now known: October 11-th you will get
a Special Release Flash and you'll know what all the fuss is about.

PS, check out NetIQ in the NT Stock Watch, PLUS 16% in one week!

2. POWERFUL NEW VERSION OF NTSCRIPT RENAMED TO SCRIPTLOGIC

The ScriptLogic R&D team did it! ScriptLogic can now modify the
secure sections of the registry on NT Workstation even if the user
logging on is NOT an administrator of the machine. This gives the
product that crucial element that large and secure accounts have
been asking for.

What is ScriptLogic?

With ScriptLogic, you'll virtually eliminate the never-ending
chore of desktop administration. Best of all -- you don't have
to write a single line of scripting code! Simply launch the
GUI-based Management Console and fill in the blanks.

ScriptLogic will allow you to centralize the group-based admin
of drive mappings, shell folders, printer deployment, proxy server
access, MS Office paths, service pack & anti-virus updates,
policies and automatic Outlook/Exchange mail profile creation.

ScriptLogic is the perfect complement for drive imaging programs
like Ghost & Partition Magic. They provide the initial OS and
application installation. ScriptLogic provides the necessary
user-specific customization during the logon process.

If you're still trying to create universal logon scripts for
your Windows 2000, NT, 95 and 98 clients using Batch files or
scripting languages, then it's time you get ScriptLogic --
the world?s best selling graphical logon script for MS Networks.

Fully compatible with BackOffice, BackOffice SBS, NT Server,
Windows NT Terminal Server, Exchange Server, Proxy Server,
SMS, Win2K Professional, NT Workstation, W95/98.

What is new in the latest V2.5?

#1: the name. Formerly known as NTscript, Inteletek decided
re-brand it as ScriptLogic since it also supports Windows 2000.

What more does it do now?

- The ability to manipulate secure sections of the registry on
NT/2000 clients, even if the user logging on is not an
administrator of the local machine. This includes Policies!

- The ability to display your own company's bitmap logo in
place of the default Inteletek ScriptLogic splash screen
during the logon process.

- The ability to configure User Shell Folders as well as NT
Common Shell Folders.

- The ability to set any deployed printers to the user's
default printer.

- New scheduled Application Launcher and Pop-up Messages Boxes.

- Group, OS and Connection Type Validation logic for Drives,
Printers, Policies, MS Office, Paths, Environment, Shell Folders,
Internet Settings, Application Launcher, Message Boxes, Registry,
File Copy, etc.

- Greatly decreased logon time over RAS due to cleaner post-
script client update routine.

- Optimized main engine to add new functionality without
degrading performance.

- Added support for use with Windows 95 & 98 clients using
Server-based Roaming Profiles.

- Full support for MS Office 2000 (9.0).

- The ability to limit concurrent logons by user.

- The ability to specify an alternate editor for custom scripts.

I'm sure you'll agree - the addition of these features make the
rebranding a logical next step: ScriptLogic 2.5.

As we all know, MS wants Windows to be the vehicle that provides
you information any time, any place, on any device. The 1999 MS
Annual Report shows you what BillG thinks about the future and
how NT plays in that picture. There is also in-depth data on new

4. SUPERDISK SPEEDS UP MS SQL BY 33%

Here is an interesting customer success story:

Houston-based Dynegy Inc., one of the country's leading marketers
of energy products and services (www.dynegy.com), uses EEC
Systems' SuperDisk-NT software to speed the performance of
Microsoft's SQL Server. The Dynegy SQL database keeps track of
their vast supplies of crude oil and natural gas liquids. The
database speed is especially important for for commodities
trading.

To achieve maximum speed, Dynegy moved the SQL tempdb file into
the RamDisk that is provided as part of EEC's SuperDisk-NT. This
speeded up their database operations by 33%. Dynegy's SQL Server
database runs on a quad Intel-based server with 3GB of RAM.
They've dedicated 1GB of their RAM to the tempdb file. The system
has been running efficiently and reliably since May.
