New Tools Announcement
  This issue of W2Knews™ contains:
Hi All,

There are some new very exciting tools out. I'll go in great
detail on the first one, the second two are just announcements
and you will hear much more about them later. The new tool from
FastLane is certainly worth checking out if you are planning to
do some consolidation of servers, and who isn't! Here you go.

1) ANNOUNCING FASTLANE DM/CONSOLIDATOR
2) TWO NEW EXCHANGE TOOLS AT SUNBELT SITE

1) ANNOUNCING FASTLANE DM/CONSOLIDATOR

This a so called 'INDUSTRY FIRST'. You can now do on-line data
migration for both Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 networks.
This new tool is built by FastLane, they are a world leader in
Directory Management Solutions.

Why did Microsoft choose DM/Consolidator?

FastLane DM/Consolidator is an application that facilitates complete
data movement projects (one time or on going), supporting data migration
within partitions, across partitions, across machines, across domains,
and across forests. FastLane DM/Consolidator transparently supports
Microsoft® Windows NT 4.0 and Microsoft Windows 2000 platforms.

Check these features out, this is pretty darn cool.

* Migrate permissions (local groups, shares and access control lists
for shares and directories) with the data
* Maintain normal access to information throughout the process
* Enable remote console management, independent of source and target
server location
* Provide multi-job scheduling to preserve network bandwidth

If you are facing some of these challenges, this is your solution.

* Consolidation of multiple servers
* Migrating data from non-Y2K-compliant servers
* Moving shares & directories to another server

I found some strong recommendations, here they are.

"[With FastLane DM/Consolidator] the savings were in the up-front
research: we would have had to look almost to the file level in each
directory for shared access points and permissions.?
John Rotherham, Distributed Systems Analyst Specialist
Northrop Grumman Corp., Network World 11/01/99, p.112

"? data migration is key because servers are always being moved or
new ones are being brought in. [FastLane DM/Consolidator] is a great
tool for that." John Enck - Gartner Group, Network World 11/01/99.

2) TWO NEW EXCHANGE TOOLS AT SUNBELT SITE

Since Exchange is getting more and more popular Sunbelt was asked
over and over if we did not have anything for Exchange to scan emails.
So we carefully selected two tools in the market, a 'low end' email
audit tool called CAMEO, and a 'higher end' email scanner called Mail
Essentials that protects and looks inside emails as they pass through
Exchange. Excellent if your company has email policies that need to
be audited and/or enforced. Check them out here:

Mail Essentials: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/mailessentials.htm
