Announcing: The New Sunbelt Exchange Archiver
I have been talking for a long time about archiving. We planned
to have a Ninja plug-in for Archiving, but the size and scope of
our archiving solution made us decide to sell it stand-alone instead.
This is a product that is comparable to Symantec Enterprise Vault
and Quest Archive Manager. Sunbelt Exchange Archiver (abbreviated
to SEA), is one heck of a powerful archiving tool! The formal
announcement will be at the Exchange Show November 5th, (see item
below) but we are giving you, our trusted WSN-readers a preview
of the product and the specs, plus the option to get a quote from
our Reps, so you can see how much more cost effective this tool
is compared to the other ones out there. You really should fill
out the 'Request a Quote' form (on the left of the screen) and ask
for a quote, you might get as excited as I am!

Tech Conferences team up to take your skills to new levels and present
cutting edge sessions from Microsoft Architects and real world
solutions from Industry Experts. Explore the expo hall for new
products and services, and network at the reception.

Secrets Of The Windows Gurus
Sometimes gifted students are just plain bored by computer classes.
"I've touched a few formal classes and always found myself wanting
much more than was offered. Given documentation and books, I could
always outpace the class," says Greg Kras, VP of product management
for Sunbelt Software....Sunbelt has a similar tack. "Customer feedback
is a large source of good ideas, just listening to admins [talk] about
problems they're having and projects they're planning toward," explains
Greg Kras. Spot him in this picture, top right, touching his goatee:

The Top Seven Reasons Why You Should Archive Email
Seen from the perspective of an admin, here are some noteworthy points.
If you are in any kind of public company, (or if your company has
registered debt), SARBOX applies. HIPAA covers healthcare, and there are
a bunch of other industries that are regulated. Even if you are in a
company that has a reasonable chance to get sued, archiving is more
important than you think.
If you find yourself in a situation where you may rapidly need to come up
with all communications about a particular subject, person, product or
company, you need to have your email in one big searchable database.
If your HR, Legal or other departments have a special query that you need
to hunt down, this archive will be a godsend. I'm talking a few hours of
queries instead of weeks (or months) of work.
Having an archive set up, you will be able to just keep dumping stuff in,
and search for what you want when you want, and not having to expand your
Exchange environment all the time. That also means a tight backup window,
and emergency restores are doable, with a reasonable normal disaster
recovery window as well. SEA will be your good friend! OK here are the
seven reasons:
- Improved Server and Network performance
- Reduced Load on Administrators
- Storage management
- Compliance and Prepared For Legal Discovery
- Employee productivity
- Business Continuity / Disaster recovery
- Knowledge management
I could go into a great deal of detail, but obviously you already
have understood the main idea. In short, archiving allows organizations
to use email as it was originally meant to be. Check out the specs of
the new Sunbelt Exchange Archiver, and ask for a quote!

and legal requirements? Are pst file problems becoming an ever bigger
headache? It's time to start implementing an affordable, professional email
archiving solution. Check out the specs of the new Sunbelt Exchange Archiver!

CounterSpy Enterprise Version 3 New Features
Sunbelt Software is pleased to announce that CSE 3.0 has been released for
general availability. All customers of CSE that are under maintenance are
eligible to upgrade to this new version at no cost. Your existing license
key will work in this new version. Here is a basic list of some of the new
features in this release:
- Customizable dashboards:
There are now dashboards available at 4 different locations of the CSE
console. Each one of these dashboards can be customized with any arrangement
of 26 available widgets. These widgets are composed of various grids and
charts which will allow for very quick analysis of agent status and
detections.
- Agent Grid Enhancements:
The agent grid data has been greatly expanded to include over 40 different
indicators of agent status and detections. Some of the new fields include
the data of the last detection for each severity level and a color-coded
highest level threat found in the last scan. As well an optional disposition
field is available which is set whenever a threat is found and will only
be reset once the admin acknowledges the detection via the console.
- Agent Summary Screens:
All of the available information about an agent and it's detections can
now be found on the Agent Summary screen. Double-clicking any agent will
bring up this screen which shows information normally found in the agent
grid as well as the new grid information such as the duration of the last
scan and the number of files scanned.
- Reporting Overhaul:
Reporting has been completely re-written using Active Reports. The new
reports are significantly faster and include the ability to quickly brand
them with a company logo and footer. Additionally a full report writer is
shipped as part of the console so any included reports can be modified
and saved. Lastly a report scheduler is built into the UI so that reports
can be automatically emailed to specified addresses or saved to disk for
historical purposes.
The upgrade process is as simple as downloading the above executable and
running it on the machine(s) running the CSE server and/or the CSE console
in your environment. Upgrading from CSE 1.8 and higher (including 3.x beta
builds) is fully supported. Agent versions 1.5 and higher are supported
in this release with the exception of Active Protection, only 2.x agents
will be able to have Active Protection enabled. This release includes
agent version 2.0.1306 which has a minor enhancement to include the
date of the last threat DB update.

Double-Take Software Announces Data Protection for SAP
Double-Take Software (NASDAQ: DBTK) today announced a data protection solution
for systems running the SAP(r) ERP Central Component. The Double-Take solution
supports two data-protection scenarios: Server Recovery Option (SRO) and
high-availability failover protection for SAP ERP Central Component.
Double-Take Software provides real-time enterprise data protection and
replication through its file system technology that replicates any file
system changes (including permission and attributes) written to an NTFS
file system from a source machine to a target machine over the network.
Double-Take Software has recently completed an integration assessment
performed by the SAP Integration & Certification Center (SAP ICC). During
the course of the integration assessment, Double-Take Software provided
information and documentation describing how Double-Take works in general,
and how Double-Take can offer data protection to an SAP ERP Central
Component-based system. In addition, Double-Take Software successfully
demonstrated that its solution provided data protection via continuous
online back-up of SAP ERP Central Component-based systems, and that under
certain configurations, Double-Take can also offer high-availability
failover protection for an SAP ERP Central Component-based system.
Double-Take Software provides a valuable solution for continuous online
backup of an SAP ERP Central Component-based system. However, because
Double-Take does not have direct API-level integration with SAP ERP
Central Component, it is not eligible for SAP integration certification.
